Yellowsone Lodging: Blue Lagoon
Our Dubois Wyoming cabin lot is just 70 miles east of the colorful hot springs found at Yellowstone National Park. Although it looks tempting, no swimming allowed in the springs.
Yellowstone Colorful Hot Springs
The whole spectrum of colors are found at Yellowstone National Park. The brilliant colors are believed to be created by heat loving micro organisms. Scientists have found bacteria in the hot springs that can live right up to the water's boiling point. You will want to spend at least a full day at the park and take the foot trails to the variety of springs, geysers and visitors center. You will not be disappointed in your tour of this mysterious landscape.
Dubois Wyoming River Rock
Just above the Dubois cabin lots are some trails that inspire and relax at the same time. There are countless trails that network all over the Continental Divide including Pinedale, Yellowstone Park and Jackson Hole. Whether hiking, four wheeling, snowmobiling or horseback riding in Dubois you will find trails and views that are great for your family. If you like repelling and rock climbing there are cliffs that are both challenging and addicting.
Dubois Wyoming Rental Cabin: Top of the World
Dubois Wyoming sits at about 7,000 feet above sea level, and within a few minutes you can be at 9,000 feet overlooking a whole range of landscape. The colorful red rock formations to the north and the green pine tree covered mountains to the south. Just a few miles from the Dubois cabin lots you will find a lookout for one of the largest mountain sheep herds in the United States. In Dubois Wyoming you won't want to miss the museum that houses several species and descriptions of mountain sheep. You can often drive right up to the herds on the north mountain and watch large rams roaming the hillside.
Yellowstone Falls
Artists come from around the world to paint the falls at Yellowstone Park. Both the upper and lower falls are a must see, which are found toward the north end of the park. It takes a bit of a hike, but you will want to hike to the base of the falls and hear the roar and feel the mist at the bottom. Take the time to look at both falls from every angle, especially from a ways away. They are so large that you can't get the whole picture right at the sight. The Upper Falls drop about 109 feet, and the Lower Falls drop about 308 feet. The Lower Falls are almost twice the size of Niagara Falls and are the largest in volume in North America.
Dubois Wyoming: Natural Bridge
You don't have to be a spelunker to enjoy some underground scenes just a few minutes from the Dubois cabin lots. This is picture taken inside the tunnel we call Natural Bridge, where part of the river flows through the rock. Tie Hackers mostly from Sweden used this stream to float their railroad ties down stream and eventually into the Wind River all the way to Riverton Wyoming.
Dubois Hidden Swim Hole
Getting hot? Cool down in the streams above our lots. Close to Natural Bridge are great swim holes and fishing holes. The mountain springs and streams above Dubois are mother to many water drainage systems that flow four different directions and are not polluted yet by industrial or commercial use.
Yellowstone: Old Faithful
This trusty geyser at Yellowstone National Park has entertained guests for generations. Named in 1870 "Old Faithfull" goes off about every 90 minutes, and averages 145 feet in height. The tallest recorded was 185 feet high. Probes have measured the water temperature at 244 degrees F. The largest geyser in Yellowstone Park is Steamboat Geyser, but it is not as dependable.
Dubois Wyoming Lodging: Sunrise
Come to Dubois Wyoming for clean air, bright stars and the most colorful sunrises and sunsets you have ever seen. We average about 300 sunny days a year. Due to the warm springs in the Wind River, Dubois Wyoming is also about 20 degrees warmer in the winter than Jackson Hole and Yellowstone Park. The constant breezes in the summer time are very refreshing.
